Welcome to van Kelder German Shepherd dogs.
I am currently owned by three dogs with another on the way. My passion is training dogs. I enjoy showing and competing in disciplines
such as rally-obedience, agility, herding,
conformation, Schutzhund, and dock diving. All of my dogs are trained to receive their AKC Canine Good Citizen and are temperament tested and herding instinct tested when age appropriate. At present my main focus is Schutzhund, which includes tracking, obedience, and protection work. I like to use other forms of obedience and agility training for improving athleticism, encouraging problem solving skills, and developing a stronger working relationship with my dogs.
As
I get more involved in training and competing, people are asking me for
information on where to train, what sports to try, where to get a German
shepherd dog, etc. The purpose of this site is not only to highlight my
own dogs, but provide information and references for local clubs, trainers,
and breeders, as well as any other resources that have been helpful to
me and others. If I can do it, anyone can!
