About Me

My name is Lies Rosema. I currently live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my husband, our three cats, and our three dogs. I am a member, secretary, and webmaster of the Working Dog Club of Michigan, member of United Schutzhund Clubs of America, member of the GSDCA-Working Dog Association, and take most of my training classes at Pawsitive Canine Training Center. My dogs train in obedience, rally, agility, conformation, pet therapy, dock diving, herding, and Schutzhund. My German shepherds are from a reputable breeder, but I also advocate for adopting dogs from shelters and rescues when possible. My mixed breed Coke is from Vicky's Pet Connection, an all-breed rescue in Ada, Michigan. My cats are all from various shelters/rescues. In the past I have volunteered for rescues and the Humane Society of Kent County. In the future I will continue supporting the breeding of quality German Shepherd dogs as well as being involved in animal rescue.

To fund my dog training and competing (what bills?), I work in customer support and repair laptops as a HelpDesk Analyst at a local college. I also design and manage several web sites for local for-profit and non-profit organizations. In my spare time, if I am not with my dogs, I am practicing my obsession with photography. I am a photographer for 24KPhoto, official photographers for many WDA events, including NASS 2008.
